Lala had to explain
When fed up with the ‘trolls’, Lala had to explain||Imran started cricket after being inspired by his brother Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi had to issue an explanatory video message a day before attending the Pakistan Day parade. It is neither about his foundation, nor about cricket, nor about his Pakistani restaurant in Dubai.
The three minute and 32 second video clip is apparently about Imran Khan on X (formerly Twitter) and his views on the new political regime.
But this explanatory statement seems to have failed to stop the criticism leveled at him. You will see Lala in the top trends on X, but the hashtags are also calling for her boycott.
In fact, in recent days, a fake statement was attributed to Shahid Afridi, in which it was claimed that he had said, “Make a lesson to the characters involved in the events of May 9, be it the captain or the entire team.”
In a tweet on March 20, Afridi wrote, “Repeatedly requesting those who make fake posts/news in my name to put their energies into something positive that will benefit them, if not others, at least.”
“If I need to talk or make a statement, the media and my Twitter handle are there for that.”
But when the criticism did not stop, Afridi had to release a detailed video.
What did Shahid Afridi say in his explanation?
In a message on social media, Shahid Afridi wrote that ‘Imran bhai has always been an idol for me and inspired by him, I started cricket.
If it were not for him, I don’t think that I would have achieved the position that Allah has given me in cricket. I have always admired his good work as a politician. And I will continue to do so.
He says that ‘like talking about Shaukat Khanum and when she came to the government, according to me, the health card was her initiative.
In his message, Shahid Afridi also talked about the new political government. I have never criticized him (Imran Khan) as a leader. Still, I have the right to disagree with any of their policies or thoughts.
He said that I congratulated Shahbaz Sharif on becoming the Prime Minister. I knew there would be a lot of criticism. No political or personal interest is involved.
Whoever is the head of our country, he is respected by us and he represents us all over the world. So if we want to make our country respectable, we should respect all our rulers whenever they come to power so that the world respects them.
Why is Shahid Afridi the target of ‘trolls’?
So far, no explanation from Shahid Afridi has been able to reduce the criticism on him.
In fact, some pro-PTI accounts are criticizing him for being ‘silent on Imran Khan’s imprisonment’. While the old clips of the former Pakistani captain are being shared again on social media.
As Saifullah Khan wrote, “Your past actions and actions are such that people can expect anything from you because Imran Khan is innocent and nothing has come out of your mouth.
But it got personal when some bloggers and journalists directly criticized Shahid Afridi.
You tuber Imran Riaz Khan said on Shahid Afridi’s silence regarding Imran Khan that “If he had to speak, Afridi should have spoken against oppression and oppression.” He said that Shahid has “once again played the wrong short.
In response to Imran Riaz, Shahid Afridi wrote, “Due to lies and propaganda, my stand will not change, nor will it serve Tehreek-e-Insaf or Imran Khan.
But in response, Imran Riaz once again entered the field and wrote, “Dear Shahid Afridi, seeing your compulsion, I feel sorry for you.” I wish you had the courage to speak against oppression and face the truth. I wish you would be satisfied with your position that Allah Almighty has given you in the eyes of the people instead of getting small worldly benefits. I am not disappointed even today, I hope you will understand one day.
Afridi’s explanation may not have satisfied PTI supporters so far.
One of the reasons for this is his criticism of Imran Khan in the past and his support of the army.
Consumers are also calling for a boycott of all brands and foundations, including Lala’s restaurant in Dubai.
Fayaz Shah wrote in a message to Shahid Afridi, “Don’t blame me but we have always seen you getting out on the egg, grouping in the team, and chewing the ball.
But Soumya feels that cricket and politics should be kept separate.
On the other hand, Mahmood Qureshi looks at the career of Imran Khan and Afridi and says ‘The difference is clear.
Muhammad Shahzeb shared the picture in which it was written that ‘Khan Sahib! A thousand Shahid Afridi sacrifices to you.
