Young People Find Jobs
Why Can’t Good Young People Find Jobs because of ‘wanting to be their own boss or limited income opportunities’?The decision to turn down a job or quit a job to start your own business was probably never as common in the past as it is now.
Generation Z, those born after 1996, are leading this trend of change. What is the reason that this trend is increasing rapidly in Pakistan like the rest of the world?
Most of the Young People Find Jobs especially these days just want no one to tell them why the spouse is late in coming to the office or why the work assigned to you was not done. Now the youth are trying to escape from the job and just want to explore the world with the help of a laptop and good internet.
They want work to be their own, own company that they are the boss of and work when they want and take breaks when they want, they like this challenging world.
A large-scale survey by Lloyds Bank, a major British financial institution, revealed that 60 percent of Generation Z youths said they would like to quit their jobs and start their own business.
However, 80 percent said that they would rather be their own ‘boss’ than work under another ‘boss’.
19 percent said that there is no peace in the job, if they want, they will find their own work and peace.
Similarly, in America, a research revealed that 50 percent of Young People Find Jobs want to start their own business instead of a job.
You must have felt this kind of change around you in Pakistan and India as well.
Take the example of Ayesha Awan, who decided during her studies that she wanted to do something other than a job.
She is the co-founder of a startup ‘Social Bow’.
She told the BBC that she had always been opposed to the idea of working for anyone and had decided during her studies that she wanted to start her own business, not a job.
“Freedom to create, think and express is very important to me, that’s why I started my startup when I got the first opportunity,” says Ayesha.
Ayesha Awan says: “It is dangerous, there is a lot of tension. It is very difficult to work with a team, but the fun and joy of doing your own work is different.
She says that the first objection was from the family, but she believes that now doing business is very easy, all you need is a laptop and Wi-Fi and you can connect with people all over the world.
In most societies, a job has been considered a better option, but the important thing is that such changes do not come suddenly. The situation is slowly changing in countries like Pakistan.
Salman Shahid, chief executive of the Pakistani company Gray Matter Global, told the BBC that many Young People Find Jobs in Pakistan are still looking for a job instead of their own work. Salman Shahid’s company ‘Grey Matter Global’ helps university students in their career choices.
Salman Shahid says that the economic conditions of Pakistan are forcing the youth to look for alternative sources of income.
He said that 78 percent of students studying in Pakistani universities still want to get a job in some way.
However, there has been a change in the attitudes of the youth in recent times and the main reason for this is social media where influences are showing the youth alternative sources of income.
Young People Find Jobs are not only in a dilemma to find alternative sources of income but also want an alternative lifestyle.
Corona epidemic has also become a reason for changes in the attitudes of the youth.
Salman Shahid says that the talk of becoming ‘your own boss’ started as a joke, but it is now becoming a reality. Young People Find Jobs now prefer internships and freelancing because of the flexibility in working hours and reducing their travel expenses due to working from home and getting paid well for their work. .
Salman Shahid believes that the employment conditions in Pakistan are so bad that Young People Find Jobs who have studied in university for four years (who have spent 15-20 lakhs on their education) if they get a job with a monthly salary of 35-40 thousand (they (even by someone’s kindness) then this is the extreme abuse of the youth that our society is doing to its youth.
It is difficult to say with absolute guarantee whether a job is difficult or a business, because it all depends on the person’s personality, his circumstances and the support system around him, and both have their own pros and cons for each person.
The advantage of a job is that it brings a salary in your hand every month, you don’t have to worry about how to run the company, where the money will come from and you also support your family by working fixed hours. Can give time but income is limited and growth opportunities are also very limited.
Also, it takes weeks to get an idea approved, less ability to make quick decisions leads to failure.
On the other hand, no income limit can be set in business, there is flexibility in terms of decisions and time, work-life balance is better, but there is also risk of money and if the business does not work, all the money can sink. You may have to work many hours.
And more difficult than making such decisions is sticking to them and seeing them through to a successful conclusion.
Hamza Ahsan, founder of Balaywise, says that when he started his first startup, there were a lot of difficulties.
He says that in the beginning, he had no idea of which people to meet, whom to talk to, no experience, no helper, ‘just a passion to do something and not back down’, that’s why he got success.
He says that ‘people will say things but you have to trust yourself, don’t stop and keep working.’
So, if your circumstances support you, what can be better than that you listen to your heart and do what your heart desires, but the wisdom lies in not taking any step without evaluating the good or bad effects.
