ECP designates the eagle as the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party's election symbol

The Eagle symbol was awarded to the party by the ECP on Thursday, indicating its approval of the IPP’s request.

The ECP had given the IPP until last Monday to make a decision regarding the election symbol “eagle.” The Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja presided over a three-member ECP bench that heard the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party’s legal representative.

The IPP attorney had petitioned the Commission to grant the party the “eagle” as its election symbol. The CEC then requested that he submit any other preferences.

The IPP Central Executive Committee had earlier decided to reapply for the election symbol of “eagle” for their party. Nisar Ahmad Durrani, a member of the ECP from Sindh, led a four-member bench that dismissed the newly established political party’s argument for the eagle symbol.
